Staying inside the citadel of Sighisoara will certainly give you an authentic experience which I can highly recommend you trying out. We chose to stay at the Boutique Hotel von Graf which is a hotel in one of the oldest buildings in Sighisoara and the establishment of the interior equally reflects a historical ambience throughout the entire hotel. The exact year of the building is unknown, however there are recordings of its existence dating back to 1734.

On the night of our arrival, the citadel had already gone to sleep, and the splendour of this hotel didn’t come to its fullest until the next morning. Located on one of those tiny, cobbly streets lined up between the most admirable pastel-painted buildings lays this landmark of a hotel and when you stay here you will notice plenty of people passing by admiring and taking pictures of this hotel; imagine this could actually be you staying here.

The feeling I had as I entered the hotel was overwhelming. I felt like I was being transported back in time. The devotion for history is evident in every corner of the building which is so carefully decorated with historical artifacts and an atmosphere fitting perfectly inside citadel.
