Where to stay in Bangkok

Our home-away-from-home was the Quarter Onnut

1. The Quarter Onnut by UHG

Our home-away-from-home was the Quarter Onnut, located in the south-east of Bangkok. The location is very convenient since the hotel is situated between the stations of the sky train, BTS Onnut and BTS Bangchak; visiting mostly the western part of Bangkok, we would usually get off at the station called “Bangchak” and walk 5-10 minutes to the hotel.

The interior is modernly furnished

The interior is modernly furnished, and everything was perfect with the exception of one thing; the room was directed towards a busy road. Even though the hotel isn’t being directly located along the main road, the traffic was still busy enough to transfer the noise and made it hard for my boyfriend to fall asleep. However, the hotel was aware of this issue and provided ear plugs. For some reason, I slept exceptionally well and heavy, so the traffic never bothered me at all.

The hotel has great facilities like a gym and a pool on the rooftop

The hotel has great facilities like a gym and a pool on the rooftop. “Unfortunately”, we were so busy exploring Bangkok, that it wasn’t until the last day where we finally explored the hotel more thoroughly from top to base and had made it to the rooftop that very last day only to witness the most beautiful view of Bangkok's glistening lights by night. The breathtaking panoramic view of Bangkok by night made me regret not having explored this hotel area sooner. If you are in search for an affordable quality hotel in Bangkok with a great location, then do add this hotel to your where-to-stay-in-Bangkok-list.

Tips:

  1. Opt for a room that's facing away from the road. Even though there is an entire building between the hotel and the busy road, the noise still transfers into the room, making it possibly hard to get a proper good-nights rest.
